In the middle of the pandemic -- and with other backs having shortened hours -- I was pleased with how really I could open an account online. Detailed instructions walked me through every step. I would have done this months ago if I'd known about NBKC!

Love NBKC! They are easy to work with, checking account is great, people that work there are nice-love Linda and Toral. Like that they are local!

I was just transferred ?7? times to “their insurance department.” The people answering, except 1, sounded miserable. One even put me on hold, over heard me talking, got back on the phone yelling“what did you say to me! What did you say to me!” Then transferred me back to the original department, what a joke. What kind of compensation do you guys offer your head honchos? Maybe you should consider investing some of it in customer service, oh wait that doesn’t exist anymore. In the middle of a refinance. They do not communicate regularly, and as soon as you go a day without responding to them they threaten to close out your loan application. I’ve sent communication to deal with the issue with no response. They don’t even attempt to communicate clearly. They use one word or one sentence email responses. This is the least professional Costco lender I have ever worked with.

NBKC is amazing, the team is super helpful and you can tell each and every single person who answers the phone actually cares about servicing the public. I loved the well thought out process of applying online and the communication for the process to open an account was goldilocks - wasn't too much or little - it was JUST right! NBKC really does set the standard for what banking should be, in the world where customer service is forgotten they nail it. You will not regret trusting them with your money.
