if you love your pet, keep looking – I've had them screw up special orders 3 times in a row. The last straw was Friday when I went in to get my cat's insulin I had called in days before. They didn't have it, just another lame excuse. Who needs a vet who jeopardizes your pet's health with their incompetence? If that was somehow acceptable I could save money and just not go to the vet.

Service at my vet center – I have taken my pets to Northwest Austin Veterinary for about five years now. I agree that some of the expenses incurred are probably more than other veterinarians, but I am willing to pay a little more to get competent, willing doctors. The front desk is always ever changing and the techs (the male techs - Aaron and Bryan I think) do an awesome job. Over all I would recommend this veterinary practice

FANTASTIC CARE FROM BIRTH TILL THE FINAL DAYS – Hard to believe a dog lasting 19 years, isn't it? Staff and turnover is a constant issue with many family businesses. My BOTTOM LINE is the CARE for my pet. Dr Walden and staff always gave me excellent care for my best friend Kato.... his entire life. Which we unfortunately had to put down recently. He was very accessible during his last few months and offerred valuable, pain relief suggestions to help with his cancer. Dr. Walton made his life exit very graceful! Many Thanks, D... read more

Worst Staff in YEARS!!! – I've been taking my pets to Dr. Walden for YEARS, and the recent changes are HORRIBLE!! The front office staff recently lost all of its good employees. Where did Jennifer go? She was the best employee northwest has had in 10 years! There is no order or anyone who has a clue at the front now! And why am I dealing with an arrogant bunch of techs that have no clue how to assist vets? Where did Becky go? Did the management fire ALL the great employees and settle for keeping the lazy, sad-faced, uneducat... read more

Best Vet in Austin – I've been taking my pets there for a while. For the first few years, it was all maintaince- shots, a UTI, spaying a new family member. This year, I had to deal with a couple emergencies and they were wonderful. I like their front office, esp 3 girls whose names I can't remember. For the reviewers below that said the front office is rude, I think I know who you're referring to and I haven't seen them so I think they aren't there anymore. I've seen all the docs there and like them all. I've mostly seen Dr.... read more

Compassionate and knowledgeable – We took our cat here for 14 years, even after moving 7 miles away. Dr. Walden is awesome! Our cat just died after a long period of health problems. He was very patient and caring, always taking time to talk about all my questions and concerns, whether on the phone or in person. We felt like our cat was in excellent hands, as far as the quality of care. As owners, we felt we were in excellent hands as far as getting the emotional support we needed during our pet's illness and when we had to p... read more

LOVE THEM! – I am so grateful that I live near this place! I went in just for vaccines, but my visit with Dr. Breaux made me a loyal customer. That was lucky, since just 4 months after my initial visit, my dog came down with a serious illness. The compassionate staff there made me feel comfortable, and after seeing a few of the different veterinarians, I felt confident that my dog would be fine there - and he was!!! I see that a few reviewers are skeptical of the front desk staff, but they were always compassionate to me, an... read more

You can do better! – I had been going to this vet as long as I lived in Austin and felt comfortable leaving my dog there during a week-long vacation. What a mistake! They never unpacked his bag, which had a blanket, toys and treats in it, and the staff left him in a cage for the majority of the week. I was told I had to pay extra for him to be walked, and when I went to pick him up, my dog looked completely traumatized and sad. I expressed my concern to the doctors...they were willing to listen but could not change what had ... read more

I've been going to this vet for 10 years. After Dr. Rafferty left, the service was not as good. The guys at the front desk were really rude and not very friendly or helpful. The doctors are nice and they have great office hours but I will be looking for a new vet soon.
