Over the last 2+ years my father-in-law and mother-in-law have been in NBH many times and each time we have experienced errors at the hands of nurses and doctors. Mistaken identity, incorrect tests, discharged while critically ill. It has been very concerning. At today’s visit to see MIL, Marlene at the front desk may have been having a bad day because she struggled to be polite and pleasant, two necessary skills when you work at the front reception area. definitely not one to ever leave reviews, but my experience in the E.R here was so exceptionally bad I thought I'd share it. (this was several years ago, in a much better place now) I was told to come here by a psych, so I went to urgent care where I waited 7 hours. Room was dirty, patients who looked critical were being left for hours, there were stains, very unsanitary. People coughing and spluttering were not offered masks. It was actually quite disgusting. Dangerous lack of care and professionalism!!!! I strongly advise against having a baby at this hospital. A close friend was told to leave with her newborn less than 12 hours after giving birth, despite being actively ill. The hospital claimed they "didn’t have enough beds" and tried to send them back to an environment that was medically unsafe for both mother and child.
