Literally one of the worst experiences of my life. Not only are their apartments unlivable and filthy but the service is atrocious as well. I went on a Friday night to view the unit offered. I was told by Edith, she "didn't have time to show me the unit." I was told I had to pay over $2000 to view it myself and if I didn't like it, I could transfer or get a refund. Complete nightmare! I am writing to express my disappointment and my stress regarding the current rental position that this property management company has put me into. I have rented in this apartment complex for more than 3 years because my work was very close to this property. I'm wiring to complain the experience I had with **** Apartment Homes Office, which is located in *** ****, California. My vehicle got broken into while parked in apartment owned gated underground parking lot, while I was trying to ask for assistance, including providing camera reviews with police officer, moving me to a different lot where cars can be monitored by camera and propose how to improve the safety of the resident properties. I started the application process for a live aboard boat slip at the ****** City Club in ****** Del Rey at the beginning of June. I was slated for a July 1 move in date. I filled out the paperwork, and met all the requirements for renting. apartments are small and should have more options some should be 2 rooms other 3 rooms. Media center is horrible it has windows xp computers. The pool is disgusting no one does their job to clean it.

This review is based on my experience with the property manager at **** ***** in Santa Barbara, who is employed by Essex Property Trust. The horrible apartment manager, who boasts over 20 years of being a property manager there, lacks basic customer service skills, as well as knowledge tenants' rights in California. I live at the The Galloway at Hacienda side, which for weeks now hasn't had a person in the front office. So when you first sign up they charge you a fee for using lockers so delivery people can leave packages behind; well there is no one at front desk so they can never get in. The few times I've dealt with the staff there, when there was staff; they were rude and honestly didn't care how they treated people. I am honestly happy I have a garage because parking is crazy. The company runs the Home Owner's Association for my subdivision. They raised the HOA dues by 20% in one year despite countless new homes paying HOA dues this year. The customer service is beyond horrendous. I called to complain and got an answering machine that in summary said 'our office is closed due to thanksgiving holiday. Offices will open on Monday Novermber 27th'...The call was made in January. They raise fees by unrealistic amounts, but do not make any advancements to the neighborhood.
