RecommendedNonessentials has always been our go-to store for gifts. They have an amazing loose leaf tea selection. Now that we live in Anchorage and we both work full-time, it's difficult to get down to the valley if we need gifts for any reason. I really wanted to get my clinical preceptor some black tea as a thank you gift but wasn't sure how I would be able to go get the tea. owner declined my gift certificate that had no expiration date. poor business sense. will never return and will let others know of that type of service. wish my friend could get a refund on her money

Dennis and Heidi are incredible people and professionals. Their is knowledgeable, professional and attentive. NonEssentials has such a variety of inventory it is easily a one stop shop from interesting cooking / baking items, lotions /skin care products, teas, coffee, unusual and beautiful gifts (many nice art pieces) and crafting items. Also, I hear they are starting to sell knitting/crochet fiber art supplies. Super fun, best store in the MatSu, a must visit when in the Valley.
I love everything about this shop. I’m in love with the flavored oils and vinegars. Great kitchen essentials and sweets. The staff is super nice.
