About this business

At NOLA, owned by famed chef Emeril Lagasse is all about creating the best patron experience possible. This means that the service, decor and most importantly, the food, most all work off of each other. NOLA accomplishes this and more, with a beautifully decorated dining area complemented by impeccable service and a diverse offering of seafood dishes. NOLA is short for New Orleans, and is an appropriate moniker as this restaurant nicely captures the essence of the Big Easy.

One of New Orleans Best! – I love this place! Excellent food - try the smoked duck pizza for an appetizer. I was MUCH more impressed by the food and service here than at Commanders Palace.

mrs t. – Even though we planned it late we were able to get reservations for the evenning, when we arrived they were running late and were told it would only be another 10 min. we ended waiting 45 min. instead. We didn't mind the crowd, or the fact that the tables were very close to each other, the turtle soup was too salty and the entree was good but a bit expensive. good wine selection. our waiter was very nice and helpfull.

SO-SO – While I enjoyed eating at Nola's, I would not return. The tables are too close together to have an intimate, romantic, private meal. It was very loud and long wait even though we had reservations. Maybe they shouldn't take so many walk-ins! The soups- turtle had way too much sherry, the gumbo was not as good as mine. The salad was excellent and loved the dressing. The entree was okay...certainly not worth the cost.

A nice surprise – My experience at Nola was a nice surprise. We were able to make a reservation the day before during prime summer convention season. Even though the place was quite crowded and noisy, we were advised ahead of time to expect so. We were seated almost immediately. Our waitstaff were extremely helpful, friendly, and immaculate to detail. All in all, quite excellent! Our waiter even sent us a postcard thanking us for visiting! The food was also incredible and a great value for a city with such great restaurants ... read more

Best in town – During a recent trip, we ate all over and found NOLA to be at the top of the list. Can't stand Emeril, but... Food was innovative and special. Service was fantastic (we'd heard bad things aabout service; I wonder if they are trying harder). The shrimp and andouille over pecan crusted sweet potato cake may be one of the best appetizers I've ever had. Great evening. Go here before Com. Palace or Brennan's.

don't do it!! – Three out of our 4 meals where INEDIBLE. If you like raw pork and redfish that tastes like the cedar plank that it was roasted on...then you will enjoy Nolas. All others can simply skip it and save the money. What a dissapointment. Quite simply the worst food experience I have ever had. That said, the wait staff was excellent, and the atmosphere was comfortable and festive. If it wasn't for an excellent appetizer and 3 glasses of wine, I would have ventured across the street for a Po-Boy sandwich.

Not Emeril's best – Different than the rest of Emeril's places. Less formal and the food and service seems to reflect it. I found it not quite up with the others after two tries. Busy, somewhat inattentive service, long waits but you should try it at least once just to get the banana pudding. It's is to Nola's what the bread pudding is to Commander's Palace - you just gotta do it.

Worth the wait and every penny!!!!!!!!!! – The people complaining about the long wait with reservations at this place need to get a life! People like myself love this place and it's not uncommon for people to stay 2 to 3 hours because the food and service is some of the best I've encountered! Being from NYC, I'm a hard sell but NOLA satisfies! I went there 5 years ago for my birthday and will be there again in 2003! Thanks Emerill for making my birthdays in Nawlins the best!!!!

The best meal ever! – I am known to everyone I know as THE food expert. I have to say that my meal at NOLA was the best meal I have ever eaten. I had the prosciutto wrapped salmon with black peppercorn grits and leek and wild mushroom confit. I could not stop grinning and thinking that this was hands down the best food I have ever eaten. My mother had the duck which was, like the salmon, absolutely incredible- tender and not overcooked. Will be making a special trip to New Orleans to eat here again! Service was impeccable an... read more
