At NOLA, owned by famed chef Emeril Lagasse is all about creating the best patron experience possible. This means that the service, decor and most importantly, the food, most all work off of each other. NOLA accomplishes this and more, with a beautifully decorated dining area complemented by impeccable service and a diverse offering of seafood dishes. NOLA is short for New Orleans, and is an appropriate moniker as this restaurant nicely captures the essence of the Big Easy.

We visited NOLA after having a bad experience at Emeril's other restaurant "Delmonico". I don't consider myself a super picky person, I really don't. I waited and bartended for a very long time. Everything we ordered was cooked incorrectly and the food was pretty mediocre. When we had issues with the food the manager never came by to say anything, which I thought was a pretty standard response. It surprises me that at both restaurants owned by Emeril we'd have similar experiences with the food and general customer service. I... read more
"Water Bugs" inside restaurant ruin the meal – I visited NOLA in mid-August. The food was surprisingly mediocre, and what slight enjoyment we derived from it was spoiled by waterbugs, otherwise know as COCKROACHES inside the restaurant. One was acceptable to me, but when another one scrambled over my friend's foot (and yes, we saw it) we paid the bill and left. My friends were a tad dramatic about the whole affair, but hey who wants giant bugs around them while they eat an expensive meal? All I can say is that at least they ... read more
NOLA is a NO! NO! – Best thing about NOLA - decor and atmosphere. Worst thing about NOLA - High prices/tiny portions. Mediocre thing about NOLA - food Amazing thing about NOLA - how many wait staff it takes to serve those tiny portions. Annoying thing about NOLA - constant interruptions by wait staff while we were trying to have dinner. Don't let yourself be sucked in by the classy appearance and by the Emeril name - resist with all that is within you or prepare for disappointment!
Very Very dissappointed – I was pretty excited about eating at NOLA since my wife and I stumbled upon it while walking around the French Quarter. We noticed they had a special menu for mothers day that night, but we were too late to sit down. So, we made plans to make reservations for the next day. The next night, we were thrilled to find out that they still had the "special" quiche from the previous days menu. However, when we received it, we quickly noticed that it REALLY WAS from the previous day. The serving size was soo... read more
Great Service – We had the gumbo of the day - braised pork, sausage with black eyed peas - and for dinner, the shrimp and grits. These dishes were by far the best I have ever tasted! The gumbo was unusual, but awesome. We also ordered fried oysters, and they were great as well; fried perfectly so you could still taste them. Service was excellent. I noticed the reviews stated bad service, but my water was refilled without ever having to ask, our plates came out hot and even @ the same time, and the waiter was knowledgeable an... read more
Favorite restaurant in New Orleans – Went for lunch on a Friday. Contrary to many reviews, the atmosphere to include the lack of excessive noise was perfect. Well attended to by three staffers. Stuffed deboned chicken wings to start were great. Jalapeno corn bread moist and nicely flavored. Wife had the boneless fried chicken and it was awesome. Breading crisp while chicken still moist. She didn't want the side dishes that accompanied her dish and they gladly brought her other sides to include the house "mac and cheese" and ... read more
So, So – So we were looking for somewhere cheap to dine at for lunch today. After spending at least $100.00 everywhere else we went. We chose NOLA, because well.. Its Emeril's restaurant. We were seated by the manager. It took a while for a real waiter to come serve us. We ordered our drinks, and after 20 minutes or longer we were served a choice of bread. I ordered the brisket at lunch and my mom ordered the pulled pork sandwich. My meat was good, albeit the sauce on the barbecue was a bit sweet. I liked how the servers wer... read more
Major Disappointment – Ate at Nola expecting bold flavors and cajun kick. My food was bland and under seasoned. My friend's was salted to the point she could not taste the meat. It was probably the worst meal I ate in New Orleans. Much more disappointing, however, was the service. There was a HAIR in my friend's drink and, though it was taken off the bill, she was not apologized to nor given a replacement. I will never dine there again and recommend you do not either.
BAMM BAMM BAMMMMM – this was our first rest for dinner on our first eve in good ol' NAWLINS! The best thing was that this was open till 10:00 pm GOOD GOD every one closes at 9:00 pm on a Fri!! The ambiance was very nice and the service was great! I had the special crab cake that was to die for and my B-F had the salad with feta cheese that was nice as well.
