Awful! Truly awful!!! – We went there last night with our best friends. Needless to say we were more than a little dissappointed. There is a special in September called "The Magical Dining Month" where local restaurants offer a prix fixe menu consisting of an appetizer or salad, entree, and desert for $29.00pp plus tax and gratuity. While there are some stellar restaurants that participate in the program (Le Coq au Vin for one), most are in hotels that cater only to the tourist market. Tchoup Chop is such an example. I under... read more
Please Read before you go this is the truth!!!!! – The Macadamia Nut Crusted Atlantic Salmon still had the skin on it and tasted fishey ..The $10.00 Crab cake tasted like shreded can crab meat with can crab meat Flavor you buy for $1 at the store ..you would Figure a $120.00 Meal for 2 ..Would not taste so poorley...Please think twice before you waste your time and $$$$
Great Choice for Out of Towners – I'm from Chicago and I booked my reservation because I wanted to get a true New Orleans dining experience. The service was impeccable from the moment I walked in until the moment I left. The food was great (I enjoyed my shrimp and grits) but other dishes such as the Mahi Mahi were just adequate. In general, the great service and pleasant dining experience compensated for any of the lackluster cuisine. I would definitely recommend NOLA to out of town visitors looking for tasty New Orleans cui... read more
Fun yet elegant, great food – I still can't stop thinking about the shrimp and grits! The flavor was amazing, a perfect blend of butteriness, cheese, and spice. The stuffed chicken wings were also great. This place can get rather boisterous, but since we were in a large group it worked out perfectly. All in all the atmosphere was nice, the staff good, and the food delicious.
Solid Choice – Emeril doesn't live here anymore (may stop in once in a while) and a lot of the dishes were included in one or more of his cookbooks, but he has left the place in the capable hands of chef de cuisine Michael Ruoss. My wife fell in love with the old standby of Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Burbon Mashed Sweet potatoes, but I was with blown away by the Shrimp & Grits (sauteed Gulf Shrimp, Grilled Green onions, Smoked Chedder Grits, Creole Tomato Glaze and red Chili-Abita Butter Sauce) which the waiter credited t... read more
Tourist trap...bad service and atmosphere inside – No reservation..seated by the bar..decent service..overpriced menu..food was decent. We had to wait over 30 minutes for our entrees...will not come back.
Food excellent, service and atmosphere not so much – They ask you if you are celebrating a special occasion, and if you want a candle on your desert. They sing happy birthday like as if you are at Chili's. I said I wasn't sure if we were ordering dessert, but if we did, then yes. We had a reservation and were asked to have a seat in a waiting area when we arrived, even though there were quite a few open tables. I was hoping since it was our anniversary they would tuck us away in a quieter room, but we sat right there by the ... read more
great service, great food – i truly enjoyed my recent dining experience at nola. first, the service was very friendly and attentive. the restaurant does get crowded so make sure you have reservations. although we had to wait 10 minutes after our reserved time, it was no biggie because they explained that they were just waiting for people to pay. second, they were very accommodating. my friends were pretty hungry but they were kind enough to give us bread while we waited. third, the food was great. i had the pork porterhouse ... read more
Mmmm, what a steak... – I was recently in Vegas with my girlfriend for a 5 day vacation. We went to Delmonico before going to see Blue Man Group at the Venetian. The service at Delmonico was spectacular. It almost seemed as if there was a 1:1 ratio on patrons to wait staff. I never had a problem with my water not being refilled. In fact, as I was commenting to my girlfriend that my glass was 2/3 full, the emptiest it'd been the whole night, I saw a hand come out of nowhere and refill my glass. I ordered the Filet Mignon and ... read more
