Good doctor
My husband had been suffering for several years with severe neck pain and finally could no longer bare the consistent pain. He actually worked with Dr. Patel and told him of his condition. I scheduled an appointment ASAP, the staff was great and prepared everything for him to have surgery. After several years of back pain, our PCP recommended Dr. Patel for a consultation. On our initial visit, Dr. Patel was very personable and took the time to show me the MRI results and what was causing me so much pain. His staff was amazing, Melva helped expedite the surgery due to my upcoming move, she made the process easy and explained everything along the way. Very incompetent office staff who has no regard for patients well being or respect of their time. I scheduled an appt on 11/4 and was not informed at the time that I needed a preauthorization for the echo stress test I was supposed to have today. I received an automated call on 11/10 to confirm my appointment. I showed up today and was told that I was called in regards to needing a preauthorization. I was referred to Doctor Patel three years ago and it was determined I needed cervical spine surgery. Doctor Patel and his staff educated and prepared me well prior to the procedure. I was very nervous about having spinal surgery and had spoke with a friend who had had a similar surgery. My surgery and recovery went very smoothly and I had minimal discomfort. I as well as my children have been her patients for many years. Every appointment that we’ve had at their office is at least a 2-3 hour ordeal. I often wonder why I make an appointment only to be let waiting hours. Also something has changed with the doctor. She seems off lately. We will be changing providers. I no longer trust her.
Dr Patel did an excellent job! I had cervical spine surgery in the past which resulted in an unavoidable complication (with another physician, not Dr Patel) Dr Patel explained the risks associated with redoing the previous surgery plus two more levels. He did the surgery and even though the risk was high for the same complication as before, I came through with flying colors! Today was my 3 month follow-up appointment after my surgery. Dr. Patel and his staff were excellent with every aspect of my care. My initial appointment with Dr. Patel was via telemedicine (due to COVID protocol). He reviewed my MRI and was very clear with explanation related to my back pain and treatment options.
