Staff are amazing! Rooms are outdated but extremely clean. Beds and pillows are very comfortable. We were travelling to Tobermory and this hotel was only an hour and 20 minutes away. Much better priced than staying in Tobermory.
Very clean and cared for hotel. I travel often in southern Ontario and stay in chain Hotels. This hotel is dated but mostly updated. There are some very small changes that could make it better. TV was older with poor quality cable reception (cable company issue). Smaller amount of counter space in the bathroom but updated and very clean. Carpet in main room should be changed to vinyl plank flooring. However, I would have no problem whatsoever staying in this well kept motel. Lovely place. We like our stay at this place. We went to Tobermory and the rooms of closer hotels got sold out. This inn is great. The layout is great and beds are very comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet. It’s also smoke free. Tim Hortons is at next door with less than 1 min walking. Would come back if passing by.
Our stay at this hotel in Owen Sound last week was extremely disappointing due to several issues. First, the air conditioning was not working properly, which made the room very uncomfortable, especially considering the hot weather during our visit. A functioning AC is a basic expectation, and its failure significantly affected our stay. Second, the mattresses were in poor condition, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. I have stayed at this motel several times, and I love it - while it's nothing super fancy, it's great for the price you pay. What I love about it is the owners are always nice and helpful, the location is perfect (e.g., close to Big Bay, Sauble Beach, stores, etc.), the rooms are the perfect size, the beds are comfy, the amenities work well, the rooms are clean, etc. Unlike some other motels, I also appreciate the mattress covers, and that I have never seen a stain on towels, sheets, etc!
