Frozen Custard is the best! Apparently Frozen Custard is an East Coast "thing" but they found a winner here! Nielsen's is known for their Concretes. They have a vanilla or chocolate base that will let you put just about any item into it. The frozen custard is even creamier than ice cream! A very popular weekend place and one that you will want to keep coming back to! PROS: Delicious, creamy frozen custard! CONS: None
Frozen fail I payed 5 dollars for a cup of melted goo. Why is it called a concrete? Drank some and poured the rest out. Never coming back. 5 dollars?! Seriously?!
An All time Favorite I've been going to Nielsens since before I can remember. It has, hands down, the best frozen custard in town, it beats all the other ice cream/frozen yogurts no contest. The "concrete" is like a blizzard but 50 times better. The custard is so thick and creamy, once you try it you never go back. The atmosphere at Nielsen's is so fun! beware of Saturday nights! (because they are SO busy!) This restaurant also serves food, by the way, not just the oh-so tasty custards. It is a decently sized restaurant with plenty of seating. It is really busy on weekends, which is a good indication of how yummy the food is. People are fiercely loyal to this restaurant.
Very Addictive Wow!! The one on Power and Baseline is GREAT! The sandwiches are to die for, you can't go wrong on any sandwich you get. The custard is so yummy! They have got great specials going on and those custard cookies are really good! It's great to buy those singles already to go in the front freezer and what an awesome price. And the customer service is outstanding! Way to go Power & Baseline, keep up the good work!
World Class Custard In my opinion Nielsen's Frozen Custard is the best frozen treat around. They have a wonderful variety of tempting flavors, especially their concretes. This particular location, while older in build, is still a fun place to spend some time and cool your tastebuds. The concretes are large enough that you may also consider saving some money by getting one and splitting it. They will put it into two separate cups for you, and surprisingly they both end up being nearly full.
