I had a terrible experience with my teenage daughter’s counselor. Her advice was completely unhelpful and seemed to lack any real psychological insight. Instead of teaching her about managing her nervous system or providing professional strategies to cope with her issues, he just encouraged her to quit school and start working, which felt reckless and inappropriate for a minor. I have been so pleased with my therapy at New light counseling. My therapist SallyJo has been an amazing therapist; so supportive, she hears me and is knowledgeable of what it takes in the journey of healing. Overall she makes me feel safe, seen and empowered.
