Avoid New American Funding if you ever have an insurance loss claim. They have an extremely confusing and slow claims department that has added endless frustration to an already stressful remodel after water damage. Essentially if your claim is over a certain amount NAF will become a party on your insurance check, put your money in an escrow account and then put you through and endless barrage of confusing emails and regular emails indicating the multi forms and receipts and letters to submit to get access to the claim money... read more

I was extremely impressed after my first conversation with one of their bankers: he was affable, very clear, and their rates were great. So why 1 Star? Because after that first call, he stopped replying to messages, even when they related to a possible purchase. After waiting almost 3 weeks, I could track him down through a colleague. I got an apology and heard that there was a death in the family. I felt bad for him (even though he should have sent me a brief message that he'd be busy for a week, or such), gave him the bene... read more

I submitted my mortgage loan application to Cheryl Kuck after she and I talked on the phone and she asked me to submit several documents. She did not respond for several days. When I inquired, she said she was going to review them but never got back to me. The most unprofessional, incompetent and rude agent I ever dealt with.
