I didn’t like the treatment I received from Michael Kerns and would choose to go somewhere else next time.
It never fails to surprise us; Methodist billing is ultimately the worst billing service we've had to deal with. It is so constant you can bet they will send out the wrong billing and make things so upsetting, mostly because we have to spend time getting this resolved. Recently we received a bill for our son's Chemotherapy treatment for his Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma that was over $28,000.00. Every receptionist I have ever encountered are extremely rude. Had one receptionist question me on why I’m making a follow up appointment after my physical. She told me I should have figured everything out on my last appointment with Dr. Stephenson. Had to call after waiting two weeks to get set up for a stress test on my heart. Receptionist there didn’t nothing but groan and make comments under her breath when I tried making the appointment. Good doctor, horrible billing. I have been trying to get my bill corrected for 4 months. It is "still under review". My experience has been that they care a lot more about money than fairness in billing and care for the patient. A billing system that everyone gets a different price depending on insurance, etc is not right. Actions speak loader than words. I finally gave up today and paid the full amount. They won.
Apparently the entire Methodist Health system has 3 dermatologists in the Omaha area. Three falls far short of the number they need to service the metropolitan area. One is on extended leave which is fine, but when you cannot get an appointment when you have a serious issue and are basically told to call somewhere else, that is unbelievable.
