Great Mexican food...home style. Refried beans were awesome...not pasty but lumpy with uncrushed beans...again, home style. Not expensive and drinks (margaritas) were excellent. Outside patio looked nice...and best of all...free plentiful off-street parking!!!
We came here on the strong recommendation of a former OB resident. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t match with his praise. My combination plate was decent but nothing special , and my wife’s carne asada was terrible (“inedible” was her description).
I really wanted to like this place, but.....the margarita were average, the service was terrible, I had to ask twice for a side of pico de gallo, which finally came as a small bowl of chopped up tomato's, nothing else. I ordered the carne asada and it was discussing...after asking 2 times for tortillas my lunch finally arrived complete. The meat was unseasoned and bland, unpalatable. The beans tasted like something out of a can and the rice was dry and had no flavor. After 2 bites I was done. Gross.
Always a good standard.. You know what you want and they deliver.
a traditional Point Loma restaurant with typical (not commercialized) food . A place to share with your best friends especially if they have a November birthday (but birthday not required) if a Mermaid!
