Dr. Van Zeeland was the physician on call when I had a rare complication following a simple hand surgery. He assessed the situation quickly and acted decisively. Dr. Olvey performed surgery on my hand on extremely short notice after an emergency work accident. I could not have asked for a better surgeon or surgical team than what I was provided with. Amazing, professional and courteous at all times.
Dr Van Zeeland is everything that I look for in a doctor, especially a specialist. He is easy to talk with, listens, and offers informed options in a no nonsense way.
When I lived in Illinois, I was diagnosed with Dupuytren's contracture on my left hand pinkie. It developed slowly over several years. When it finally reached an inconvenient stage, I reviewed options with my doctor. Xiaflex injections were recommended over surgery. I would guess anyone with a needed surgery for comfort and no more pain still considers the risks. I thought long about this. Dr. Van Zeeland gave me the details of the procedure and not once made me feel pressure. He came out after the first hand surgery and talked to my husband and I feel so comfortable I had the other hand done this year as well. I can't brag enough about the Dr. and the Hand to Shoulder Center in Appleton.
Dr. Olvey performed surgery on my scaphoid, requiring a screw and bone graph. The bone had deteriorated enough that there was a high risk for failure - which would require the bone to be removed. Most people with this surgery rarely have a 100% recovery, but I can say that I am 100%, and even lift heavy weights. There was a self-inflected complication post surgery, and scheduling an emergency appointment was easy and timely. He was great to work with, very patient, friendly, and caring.
Dr.VanZeeland did a total shoulder replacement on my husband he also did his right hand for carpal tunnel surgery everything went great, I recommend my friend to him and he also did a reversal shoulder replacement on her and that went great, brought my mother to him and he did her total shoulder replacement on her and that was perfect.
