NAMI Philadelphia is a wonderful, heart-filled organization. They provide a wealth of resources and knowledge, and all with an empathic kindness that means so much to those they serve. Their support groups are amazing, and my experience as a volunteer has been fantastic. Amy is a true advocate and connector... Doing such IMPORTANT work for our city!
The facilitators and participants of these support groups are like no other I've ever experienced. They are genuine and openly honest people, who truly relate to others experiences and gives heart-felt feedback. I thank the universe that materialized this resource in my life. I have and would recommend them to anyone.
They provide FREE support groups for people with mental health diagnoses and their families. Although it says Philadelphia, they are open to people who live outside the city. They do NOT ask for your address, ID card, etc. Due to the pandemic, they are offering groups via Zoom. However, the camera can be turned off. Real names don't have to be used.
