Over two decades ago Nam Phuong, a Vietnamese Restaurant opened its doors to locals of Philadelphia. The restaurant was named in honor of Queen Nam Phuong, the last queen of Vietnam. They were an instant hit with the locals and from a food truck they flourished quickly into a restaurant. Best pho I've ever had. Ever. Well-priced food and authentic.
They are a very good place to go for authentic Vietnamese food. My wife is Vietnamese, and she says it makes her homesick when she eats there, because the food is so good.
Slightly better than a cafeteria-style feel and fairly large servings of the usual Vietnamese go-to's. While the quality was fine and they seem to do brisk business, I couldn't help but compare it to my favorite nearby Vietnamese restaurant ... The meats didn't taste as bbq'd, there were less fresh herbs, and they offer no wine or beer. Overall still a good experience though, and super fast.
