January of 2025 my husband told his primary care doctor at the VA in Myrtle Beach SC that his shoulder hurt and he was tired. He read on the Internet it could be his heart. She said you need to stop reading the Internet. Completely dismissed the concern so he figured he must be ok. August 26, 2025 he had a heart attack and died but was revived at the softball field. I am going up to two stars from one because of the very kind and caring treatment I received from Jolene Stell the Pain Management Provider I have seen twice now. She's absolutely fabulous.This VA is in need of more providers like her. The reason for only giving two stars for this VA location has to do with the absolutely horrible care and treatment I have received by several of the Primary Care Doctors I have seen and one of their nurses. I would give this VA facility negative scores if possible for primary care.
LOL no mental health help here. They have cut staff and you might as well sit and talk to homeless they are more qualified. I did get to talk to a gentleman who is a Veteran and was there to listen. He is on staff his name is Bernard and runs group and individual counseling on Tuesdays at 9am. If in need go talk to him he listens. Sometimes just talking helps.
Dr Kousa is a lazy, incompetent and neglectful provider. He should not be allowed to treat any patient.
