Avoid like the plague! We had the carpets in our home cleaned in Fall 2007. They did a reasonable job but then one of the workers suggested cleaning our 100% silk Chinese rug. There was a small stain from a drink in the corner of the rug. They took it away and applied some chemical to or used the wrong equipment. They basically burned it. They claimed to have been insured but were unwilling to provide proof that an insurance claim or even estimate had been done on the rug. They wouldn't allow an independent estimate. Mediocre service – I needed a sofa cleaned as well as my carpets. I looked on City Search and called 3 or 4 places that seemed to have good ratings. To my surprise, at least three of them led back to the same agency. Mundae, City Clean, and Houston Carpet Cleaning and Restoration are all apparently the same company. didn't do as promised – I had spilled red wine on a hand woven wool rung. I called them and told them I had tried everything to get it out. They told me they would clean the rug and if needed ,bleach the fringe or repace it. they quoted me a price and I had them pick it up. When they picked it up they told me they would do the "super dooper" cleaning/deodorizing, etc. for an extra $50 and I told them ok. When the rug was returned to me the stain was still on it. NICE EMPLOYEES! – The Results are unbelievable. My full stained carpet in the living room transformed to be a new invironment. It feels fresh and smells like a garden scent.
