This is my first time giving a review and sadly it’s not good. I checked in with my boyfriend Aug 5 10pm I think. The lady who checked me was very nice. I expected same thing the next day but we were so disappointed that they don’t even smile or say good morning considering they are working in a hospitality industry. Wannabe hip aesthetic doesn’t make up for a cold welcome, indifferent service, and rooms that feel cramped even by city-hotel standards. The Moxy DC may look trendy on the surface, but the hospitality fell short where it mattered. Style is fine, but basic warmth and attentive service should come first.
Infested with fragrance. Fragrance on the.chair, air, bed, hand soap, etc. horrible for the lungs. Slept 2 hrs ,woke up with a wheezing. Horrible place. neighbors TV volume up loud all night. Very noisy place at night. Shower noise,.tv noise,.etc. waste of $120. Never again. Also the refrigerator doesn't work for chicken. Left chicken in there for 6 hours, took it out and it had a strong smell. Refrigerator ineffective
There were 2 things I disliked. We paid the extra fee for breakfast but we never really asked what that entailed, and we never had breakfast at the place. Our fault. What killed us were the beds. It was like sleeping on a bed of cement. We'd wake up, as 2 adults in our 40s with severe back pain and neck pain. I asked for extra pillows but it didn't help. Whoever gave this more than 2 stars was being very generous. The rooms were terrible. Slightly larger than a jail cell with no closets with only a bunk bed. I had to keep my clothes in my suitcase because it didn't have anyplace to put them. The only good thing going for it was a large flat TV screen that you could watch from your bed about 3 feet away. This is the first time I've posted a hotel review and I've stayed at plenty of them. Don't take my word for it, do your own research.
