I love St. George Island, but I was highly disappointed in the property that I rented from Resort Vacation Properties. The 5 bedroom home had dirty toilets, loose toilet seats, long gash in the cheap kitchen counter, rusted, rotten wood on the screened-in porch on the living level of the home. The dishwasher fell apart when we opened it the first day to wash dishes. Some of the shades had problems being raised and lowered. The hot tub did not work. The home looked unmaintained. It was a very last minute getaway and the accommodations were excellent. A nice cozy cabin with a beautiful secluded view. I will defiantly return to this cabin again.
My family has been going to St. George for 25 years! Boy that makes me old! We love the island! It has become our home away from home. In the 25 years of going, we have experienced two evacuations and once in 2005, we never got to the island due to hurricane Dennis! However each of these three unfortunate times our travel insurance helped ease the pain! Never go to an island without it!!! We have always had a great experience with RVP! Very disappointed. Booked a 6 bedroom home for 9 adults & 5 kids & found our bed full of BED BUGS the first night. Itched & scratched all night & woke up to blood streaks on the sheets which we later realized were from the BUGS. We had to demand them to move us to another house (they wanted us to stay put while it was treated for 2 days) which ended up being only 5 bedrooms. I have rented 5 different homes in the community of morgantown from Relax on the beach. Carousel, chill out, freedom 1, the grammont and just recently ( labor day) Always on my mind. It is a pet friendly beach. It is quiet, clean, and beautiful. After discovering this area we have found we can rent these beautiful homes at a reasonable price especially if you share with friends or family. Really satisfied with our cabin rental from Mountain Air. Check in was fast and friendly and cabin was nice and clean. We had a water problem one evening and within an hour they had someone out to look at it. They couldn't fix it and had to call a well company to look at it the next day. An employee from Mountain Air actually drove out to the cabin to offer us a new cabin. We decided to just wait it out and the problem was discovered and fixed the next day.
