I've been in the ER of Mount Sinai queens hospital a couple of times before and I've always been given a descent service and treatment until 2 days ago: Sunday, June 2nd 2019. I was transferred from city Md to the hospital with a doctor note and report, due to my extreme level of pain caused by a herniated disk and a sciatica. I arrived there around 9:30-45 pm and was given a wheelchair since I couldn't walk. It was crowded, so I asked the security guard who escorted me in to...Continue Reading

Unorganized and highly inefficient. If you like sitting around for 5 plus hours for 15 min. worth of work, this is the place for you. This hospital epitomizes why health care needs reforming.

I went into the ER at Mt Sinai Queens and ended up needing emergency surgery. The surgery went well, but there were complications and I was in the hospital for about a week total. I had an excellent team of nurses during my time there, including Irene and Marion in the OR Recovery, Vicki, Nezle, Emmy, Tania, and Leela on 4th floor East, and Wendy, Raj, Devi, and Chris in the Intermediate Care Unit. The care I received greatly aided my recovery and I would recommend this hospital.

No one likes to be in the hospital but after a necessary brief stay at Mount Sinai in Astoria. I must say I was very pleasantly surprised. The intake people in the E.R. couldn't have been more courteous and patient and once admitted into the hospital, I found the nurses and doctors to be outstanding. They checked on me continuously and were extremely kind and helpful. And, by the way, the food there is absolutely delicious.

My wife was brought to Mount Sinai Queens by EMS responding to a stroke. She was miraculously cured by an intervention radiology team that was brought in from Mount Sinai Manhattan. Unfortunately, after two days of complete recovery following the thrombectomy, she faced additional strokes that ultimately proved to be fatal. My family and I experienced care in the Emergency Room, the ICU, and in the general medical service. We found the doctors, nurses, and other staff extraordinarily professional and unbelievably warm. The p... read more

Maybe a new hospital from the outside, but from the inside it's still Astoria General.
