Thanks to Dr Andrew Hecht I was able to live and enjoy life again not once but twice Will never let another doctor even look at my back ~ need a good back surgeon he's the one to see!
Yesterday I fell on the steps on the 5th ave gueinheim pavilion. I was taken to the Er by security.The Doctor that treated me. Took me into a room with dirty sheet. I I told him that the sheet needed to be changed.He haf the nerve to turn it to the other side .I said this wad not acceptable. Then he got a clean sheet. My finger was bleeding asked a nurse for a bandaid instead of her assisting me she gave me the bandaid. I had to apply my bandaid. I BELIEVE patient care should be above and beyond excellent. Those professionals, paraprofessionals, techs, business associates, physicians, PAs and foremost physicians and surgeons are all OUTSTANDING. Those who work in the Cardiothoracic ICU, and on the 7th floor are exceptional professionals but most importantly empathetic, kind and caring individuals. I'm been coming to this hospital since my childhood, I use to live at 105 Madison Ave: any health problem they always there for me. My doctors always refers me to the right clinic. Just love MOUNT SINAI HOSPITAL.
Being a physical therapist for 20 years (and having most of my friends and family working in healthcare), I KNOW how easy to get burnt out in this profession. But having been at the other side of the medical chart these past few days, I was reminded that the extra 2 minutes with a patient, a genuine smile, a "you're doing so well" can make a world of difference. The staff of Mount Sinai did just that- they went the extra mile and we can't thank them enough!
