Horrible experience – Me and my caucasian friends attempted to go to Mothers. While we were in line, the bouncers harrassed us, informed us that we coudln't get in because we were to f'ed up(none of us had had a drink all day!). We explained that we were as sober as could be, and hand't had a drink all day, and they just refused service to use, and informed us that if we didn't exit the line they would call the Police on us. A FUN PLACE TO BE!!! – WE MAKE A POINT OF GOING TO MOTHERS AT LEAST EVERY COUPLE MONTHS. THE WAIT STAFF IS GREAT - OUTGOING AND BEYOND FRIENDLY. AS FOR THE ATMOSPHERE IT IS FUN!!! THE MUSIC IS GREAT AND IF YOU ARENT UP TO THE "DANCING" THEN THE FRONT HAS KARAOKEE WHICH IS A BLAST TOO - - WHETHER YOU WANT TO SING OR LAUGH AT OTHERS SING. IT IS A BLAST. BY THE WAY - - IT IS SUPER CLEAN AND YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE.
Had an awesome time!!! – My girlfriends and I were in town for a long weekend and wanted to have a great time. This was the place to be! The staff was great! If you get to Chicago you need to go to The Original Mother's. In the front room they have one type of music and its more of a sit down bar atmospher. In the back is a big room with a nice size dance floor with 2 bars. The entire staff is HOT, guys and girls!! Gotta go there!!
NEVER GO HERE! – This is the worst place I've ever been to. They discriminated against us for being hispanic. I'm not saying it because I'm all about Latin pride or anything like that. I'm serious we had a party planned for a cousins of mine and they did eveything in their power to throw us out. The manager was a rudest person there. We've never been as mistrated as wewere when we went to this place. AVOID if possible.... It was horrible....
The Old Becomes New Again – I've been going to the Division street clubs for years, and recently returned to Original Mothers, and OOH the surprises! First it seems they have new owners, and it looks like the owners CARE! They have re-vamped the inside, and brought back the Live Music to Division Street with weekly summer shows Wednesday through Friday, and a Live Band Karaoke Contest on Thursdays. The venerable anchor of the bustling Division Street scene. – The Scene To enter, patrons walk downstairs through a menacing plaster mouth not unlike Monstro's in "Pinocchio." There's a good selection of beers on tap at the circular island bar, and the prices aren't bad considering the prime Gold Coast location.
