Glad to see Jim Crow is alive and well at Mother's! – I have had several poor experiences at Mother's before. Now that they have instituted an "WHITES ONLY" policy. I guess they won't have to worry about me spending another dime in this establishment. I look forward to the day I drive by and see this place closed.
Not for me. – I haven't been here yet, but from the media and reviews, I would never go. Bunch of racist pricks. They should change the name to Mother's White Club and relocate to rural Alabama.
Disgrace – When the advertise that 80's iconic movies were filmed there, they don't say that they wish they were still in an 80's movie -- where racial minorities are relegated to the background. Pathetic.
Why the hell would anybody go here in 2009? – Mother's wasn't good enough for me when I was doing my college undergrad... and it shouldn't be good enough for ANYBODY in the 21st century. Bad architecture meets worst atmosphere and the dopiest bouncers grilling you to get in to the most pathetic club in the city of Chicago. Worst bar in Chicago. – Save your money, Go any place else in Chicago for better service and better value for your entertainment dollars.
Shut this place down – Its unbelievable that a place would bar blacks in this day and age.

Look at the dates of the reviews – Look at the date of the reviews obviously this place has had problems over the years. This place needs to be boycotted and closed down for good. People of all colors, especially minorities need to take their green elsewhere. I have been there and they do have a pretty lame staff. The bouncers are some of the worst that I have seen.
