If I could give them -10 stars I would. They are thw worst company... Thiefs! Just DO NOT RENT their properties. Also, don't trust anything they say. They will give you a dirty apartment and also take your entire deposit when you leave.
Monroe Properties deserves zero stars. Zero. Some shady stuff is going on behind the scenes once people vacate their apartments. Maintenance is screwing everyone. And what's worse, management is passing the buck, not taking responsibility for these grievances. Swindlers. Cowards. Someone involved is pocketing the security deposits. There's absolutely no way that ALL of these people, including myself, have had $1,000 worth of damages to these apartment units. I'm one step away from filing a lawsuit. Do not rent from these people - you will never see your security deposit again. I lived at 1 West Jackson for almost two years. It was fine. Not great, not awful, just fine. However, Monroe Properties completely screwed me on the security deposit after I moved out. They do this TO EVERYONE. I have never heard of anything like this. They claimed it cost them OVER $1,000 to get my apartment back to the condition they consider "rentable." DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT ! Rent from this company! Our 1st half year in the apartment we just thought our neighbors were loud , we lived in the 1st floor and we could literally hear our upstairs neighbors fight, have sex, and even walk. However it did not stop there because our new neighbors moved in and I could hear her phone vibrate , and alarms every morning. The ceilings are super thin and the construction is ridiculous. You might as well just count your security deposit as gone. I've never had a security deposit taken all together. They will charge you for every small detail and claim it's not wear and tear. Don't bother cleaning the apartment when you leave because you will get charged the fee anyways. The ceilings in my apartment were so thin you could hear the upstairs neighbors cell phone when it was on vibrate. My advice look elsewhere.
If you are thinking in moving into any monroe properties apt/houses. DON'T they are absolutly horrible to work with and everything they say is a lie! They WILL take your deposit no matter if you left the place in great conditiond! Even wayyyyy better than when you got it... They will just take it anyways! Apartments look ok but they are not! Everythinf breaks! And the electricity for a one bedroom will be $250-$300 a months because their windows are the worst! If you cover them with pastic the wind will still come through! ... read more
