My son was diagnosed with pyloric stenosis in the ER after two awful weeks at home thinking he had formula allergies and acid reflux! The ER found the problem and the solution! We were admitted followed by surgery the next morning and a day of recovery! I live an hour away and have a toddler that I did not want to have to be around for all of this, so my husband stayed home with him! As a mother watching my 5 week old suffer and need surgery was awful, however the staff couldn't have been better! I didn't want to be alone as... read more

My granddaughter life was saved at Vanderbilt in 1999 when she was born with a Cyst on her brain . She had to have a shunt placed in her head for the fluid on her brain. She had to have it replace in October of 2001, at which time her seizures started. She has had seizures since 2001. We go back and forth several times a year. We dearly miss Doctor Noel Tulipan who was her doctor for many years till he passed away in 2015. We have spent time in the hospital at Children's for her seizures. They treated us so good and eere nic... read more

We had Dr.Kelly (plastic surgeon) for my daughter's surgery for craniosynostosis, and I am just beyond impressed with him, our neurosurgeon and their staff. So loving and made what was a terrifying situation, much easier.

My granddaughter was born June 12, 2015 at Knoxville with Crainiosynostis and without eyes. We had the option to seek her medical team from several places but with lots of research Vanderbilt Children's had the best options. At 3 months old Dr. Kevin Kelly done the impossible! He took our angel into surgery and what was to be one of several...he did those several surgeries all at once that day. He not only reconstructed her little head but he fixed her eye sockets as well as other things she would have to have done in later ... read more

We went to the hospital yesterday morning due to my son having pain in his left foot. They took his X-Ray of his foot. We waited about 3 hr to get his result of the X-Ray but we couldn't the x-ray technician was a student and his teacher was no where to be found. So the doctor that was helping us brought a picture of his foot and showed us and told us possibly what it could be but was not 100% sure. So we left after being there for 5 almost 6 hr to come out exactly the same way we went in. I was really surprise that this hap... read more

I'm one of those, I didn't know I was pregnant. I had a benign tumor and it seemed to progressively get worse. Even visited my OBGYN and was sent to see an interventional radiology to have a fibroid embolization. I was admitted for surgery on 11/28/16. A Vanderbilt grad physician did a pregnant test. He said I was either pregnant or I had cancer. My newly wed husband and I thought cancer because I have PCOS and other issues and was told I would never have children. Was rushed to emergency ultrasound and there a baby was 37we... read more
