Get directionsI cannot say enough about this hospital! My husband is immunosuppressed from a transplant 17 years ago. Going to a hospital during this pandemic was extremely risky. He wound up with sepsis from an infection on his foot. I called the ER before we left the house and explained the situation and how concerned I was with my husband going to any hospital. Nick, the ER nurse I spoke to, assured me that they were doing everything possible to keep people safe from the virus, but they had extra precautions in place for people like my... read more
I took my mom to the emergency room and it was filthy. First of all we arrive to the hospital, they have a short supply of mask. We were made to remove my own heavy mask and put their flimsy mask on. We were made to remove our gloves because they were from the outside. They would not give us a pair of gloves to put on because there was a shortage. Then we went in to sign in and the Hisitc Jews had no masks on and were eating a full fledged lunch, it looked like they were having a picnic. They were on cell phones and had no m... read more
I would never visit this hospital again. The representative assured me they are in contract with my health insurance carrier- only to find out months later that they were wrong. Now I have been fighting hundreds in medical bills for almost a year. I’m either put on hold for hours or hung up on by supervisors. I would have gone to a different hospital had I had the correct information. This has been the worst experience and I would highly discourage anyone from going here.
Your ER charged my 18 yr old $611 for an ear infection, said she might qualify for financial aid and then sent it to a collection agency!!!! Shame on you!! Insurance paid for the visit, you are just being blood sucking leeches!
My recent experience at St. Barnabas was awful overall. I passed 3 other hospitals just to deliver my baby at St. Barnabas because I thought they were the best. It’s where I was born, my brother was born, and my local hospital growing up. Never again. They forced a COVID test on me against my will, then had unmasked doctors present that treated me. They CALLED me while I was still heavily medicated and incapacitated in their recovery room to insist I pay $3,000 immediately on my debit card without even showing me a bill... w... read more
P.E.S.S. Services - awful experience: indifferent, condescending, irresponsible psychiatric assessment services. Gestapo like tactics interfaced with local police department. No consideration of best interests of patient. Psychiatrist assessment wasn’t even face-to-face; assessed over the phone after nurse interview. Major weak link in the disastrous mental health network in Monmouth County.
I have literally driven over an hour to get here. There is no better hospital that I’m bc aware of. I just recently experienced their labor and delivery department, and then post partum. My nurses were Jillian and Karissa. They took so much time in assisting and educating me. They never became impatient and they were SO knowledgeable. I was assigned Dr Adams as my anesthesiologist. I was so scared because with my first csection I felt the needle for the spinal block. She did such a fantastic job I barely felt anything. This ... read more

Thank you for the recommendation.
Although staff and the level of care can be good, as an African American woman you will experience medical racism at St. Barnabas. A family member who was experiencing a miscarriage went to the ER and languished there for over 14 hours without having the procedure she needed. The excuse given was the operating room was booked. I will spare all the details suffice it to say if she was a Caucasian she would have gotten the procedure. These doctors that make medical decisions in part based on implicit racial bias continue to th... read more
