Would never recommend this hospital.Was there Oct 13.I banged my knee pretty bad.I hobbled into the ER.7hours later I hobbled out,No wheel chair to the exit.Had x rays and cat scan.I had asked if they would drain fluid from my knee.Answer was no .Knee was size of basketball.Never saw an orthpeaodic doc.Was dicharged saying I had arthritis.Also on discharge it said if my knee was swollen and in pain seek medical attention.What was the hospital visit for.?Saw my own doc few days ago and drained my knee.feeling better.Now i kno... read more

The ED is severely understaffed. Incorrect meds attempted to be administered until I brought to their attention the med change By the MD. No pillow available for 14 hours. No meals for 24 hours. No water at bedside. Laughter and socializing at desk. They were eating brownies and ordering coffee while I am hungry and thirsty. They are discussing their schedules and who can cover for who on what holiday. Since the med orders were mixed up I am worried about everything else that they are doing. This place is awful. I was there almost 3 years ago and the nursing care was horrible, the rooms were trash, AC was broken and they’ll just ignore you. I actually had one nurse come in my room, immediately go to the computer, chart all the things she had done but when in reality she did nothing. I read the note over her shoulder and as she was leaving I asked if she was going to do anything she charted. I’m an RN, I’m very well aware of what she wrote and what she did-or didn’t do. Not a chance my mom and dad was in there the same time they treated them like doodoo!!! Never again my father had dirty underwear on for 6 days they didn’t knw a seizure when my mom was having one while on the neuro floor!!! Horrific!!!!! Worst experience and on top of that I was lied to not once not twice but three times when trying to get updates about my father!!! Clearly WE didn’t matter!!! 😡

Anyone planning on surgery here, please make sure you take your loved ones possessions. My mom was brought into the ER via ambulance. On 8/13 she was prepped for surgery and her wedding ring, that has been on her finger for 63 years has gone missing. It has nothing to do with the value of the ring but the sentimental value. My mom passed in the hospital a few weeks later and they have yet to find her ring.
I didn’t care for this hospital when it was Paul Kimball and it didn’t get any better when it merged with Monmouth Medical. I will go the extra miles to go to Monmouth Medical in Long Branch. Now that hospital is awesome!
