I regularly stay at the Modern and was surprised to see how much the menu had changed. Sadly, tonite the only thing that lived up to past experience was the drink and service. I ordered cauliflower appetizer and breaded chicken cutlet on kale as my dinner. The fried food tasted air fried. The cauliflower did not seem fresh and over battered. My chicken had no taste. It looked burned.
Great cocktails. friendly and fast service.
I had the meatballs and they were dry and hard but they had good flavor. The ambiance of this place is great. Staff were great also.
The Modern has changed up their food program and they no longer serve dinner. We made a meal out of their small plates, but we were sorry we had not known in advance that they have made a significant change to their menu. Service was flawless and friendly and the drinks were fantastic.
We went for cocktails/mocktails & dessert & also ended up getting the “bread & butter” as it sounded so good. The drinks were delish. They perfectly balanced both the old fashioned & the no more bad mornings mocktail. We’d both order them again easily. The bread & butter was so so good (the pickled onions & homemade pickles are just as good as the bread!). We also tried the chai spice cake & it was so delicious as well.
