Fantastic school, great people and environment. Everyone cares about everyone. They really push us and want us to be the best out there. Gives us everything we need to know, and all the tools to make it happen. The class size is wonderful. It’s definitely my second home and always will be. Best decision of my life!
I enrolled in 2004. I paid $13,000. The school just newly opened. It was a waste of my time and a waste of my money. The instructors were awful. They were not professional. They didn't really teach. I didn't learn much. The makeup artists that are doing well today already had experience prior to enrolling at MKC. I researched so many schools and debated so long, going back and forth between MUD, Joe Blasco, Cinema Makeup, and MKC. My mistake! Spend your money else where. It's too bad that Margaret didn't work harder to impro... read more
My experience Please, just spare yourself by going there. I was there I quit in a few days, but they didn't refund me a make-up kit for 2000!! dollars. I quit because I realized what kind of enterprise they are. They just want the money and that's it period and you have to clean the premises, which is also ridiculous, as me personally i went to Cinema beauty school, they are reasonably priced and at least you'll get some knowledge. The atrocious experience! Zero stars I would rate.
waist of energy, time, and money – first of all, i wish i had thoroughly did research when i decided I wanted to go to beauty school. GO TO MUD at least. they teach beauty AND FX makeup. then there's this creepy 'success coaching/therapy' course that "teaches" you how to succeed in life. I have been a freelance makeup artist for 5 years since graduating and have NEVER applied their teaching to any photo shoot i've been on, it was completely irrelevant. and we also had chores. we had to clean the kitchen, vacuum, clean the ba... read more

If youre passionate about becoming a makeup artist.. – I attended MKC Beauty Academy in Sept 2010 and would highly recomend this school to any one who is SERIOUS about becoming a professional MUA. They dont just teach you makeup at MKC, (even though yes you will do lots and lots of makeup every day) but they also teach you the business side of what being a freelance artist is really like and how to market yourself and run your business. You also learn Beauty lighting, so that you are prepared to go on set and you know all of... read more
Journey at MKC academy – I attended MKC, in FEB 2010. I can only speak from my experience, and MKC academy changed my life. I am a firm believer of " every lesson is what you make of it."Going into any school, there will be high stress days and days of fun learning. Number one: school is to learn and better yourself. I knew when I walked into MKC, it was my choice and I was ready to challenge myself as an artist and individual. So in this case, I walked in with open arms and I was ready to give my all. As I did! And it was on... read more
Other Local Makeup Schools are Way Better – This school is crap! Also, I'm assuming that the people writing these "good" reiews are people that either a) work there or b) own the place because everyone I went to school there with had a terrible experience. I have also talked to other alumni from different classes and they shared the same bad experience. I'm not going to go in to detail about my experiences but I would just say that this place is not worth anyone's time or money. I have heard great things from other makeup sc... read more
Great Experience! – I attended MKC in Feb 2010 and I absolutely had a wonderful experience. I was able to expand my knowledge in the arts of make up. Further then that though, we were taught about the business side of marketing and running your business. At MKC they teach you how to become a sucessful make up artist/business owner. MKC wants you to learn every angle of the industry. I graduated feeling ready to start my career and to feel comfortable with my creativity because I had so much practice. You learn everything fro... read more
