MJ's Tavern is a cozy, gay-friendly hangout and neighborhood bar that also serves up some great food. American comfort food is the highlight of the menu along with the array of draught beers and wines. In addition to the full bar, there is also a pool table for your entertainment. There are different food specials every night of the week, whether it be all-you-can-eat spaghetti Tuesdays or Sunday brunch. A number of lively events also take place quite regularly. Tea dances and karaoke nights are common and much-loved by the local patrons.

sat outside, good covered area and everything was appropriately spaced out. staff was super friendly and helpful, and worked to accommodate my allergies. i would suggest listing allergen info next to menu items w abbreviation and a key to make choices easier for customers and avoid the "can't find the box or container with the info" dilemma. only major bummer was there was smoke smell right in the outdoor dining space, which as a former smoker was not a great thing. inside had pool tables and everything was clean and they also have karaoke and events that look fun for when life gets back to normal

I love MJ’s live near it and go to it often, truly love their breakfast, pull-pork sandwiches, spaghetti and the general atmosphere and lively fun yet great customer service. I’d recommend it to anyone especially if you just want to relax enjoy a good meal and drink of any sort. Great staff and cook.

I’ve gotta say that we love MJ’s. We moved here from San Antonio and heard a rumor that the owners of MJ’s were also from San Antonio, TX. Add to that it is a local LGBTQ+ hangout = perfection. We have dined in the restaurant once, but with Covid we order pickup rather than dine in. So, yes, MJ’s is a pretty cool place. Here’s the humorous part, we ordered tacos for taco Tuesday, and all my wife and I could do was giggle. Real tacos do not have Romain lettuce, especially not bean and cheese tacos!! This is the one menu item that was not to our liking. Everything else has been pretty yummy.
