This one thousand acre attraction located just west of Minneapolis is a gardener's paradise. It is also the perfect spot for anyone who simply wishes to visit a beautiful and peaceful place. The University of Minnesota, which owns the arboretum, conducts research here and offers a wide variety of educational programs. Several miles of walking paths weave through the gardens, with a lane along side for those who wish to drive.

The Arboretum is never a disappointment. Such beauty with the flowers and the colors. I was amazed by all the butterflies. It was a wonderful day.
My first time at the arboretum and it was awesome! The grounds are extensive and breathtaking. The dahlia garden was heavenly with all the vibrant colors and butterflies. We had a picnic in the Japanese gardens, which was like a scene from a Monet painting. What a gem of a place! Thank-you!
The Arboretum must stop using pesticides for weed control on turf areas! It is 2017 and pollinators and birds are declining in numbers. Pesticides kill. Do visitors really mind a few weeds in the grass? And why is there so much grass? Replace the turf with native plants for wildlife! Be a leader! Stop poisoning!
Beautiful and magical... in my life there are many places I have gone for many walls and this is truly my most favorite
This place is simply breath taking. I love walking through each garden & taking in all of the beauty. Thanks to all the volunteers & staff for all of their hard work & dedication!
