This one thousand acre attraction located just west of Minneapolis is a gardener's paradise. It is also the perfect spot for anyone who simply wishes to visit a beautiful and peaceful place. The University of Minnesota, which owns the arboretum, conducts research here and offers a wide variety of educational programs. Several miles of walking paths weave through the gardens, with a lane along side for those who wish to drive.

The grounds and facilities were lovely. The staff, not so friendly. I’m visiting from Canada and my mother in law is a member, so she is entitled to a discount in the gift shop. I paid for an item with cash and used her card and was told, in a condescending tone, “you know discounts are really only for members”. Welcome to the arboretum!
I love it so much I became a member. I bring everyone that visits to see the fantastic gardens, and to eat the amazing food.
A beautiful, wise, kind place, created by bright and talented people !!!
What a wonderful place! There is so much to see that plan to spend a few hours.
This is one of my favorite places to go outside. I spent 4 hours there and only got through 1/4th of the entire place.
