This one thousand acre attraction located just west of Minneapolis is a gardener's paradise. It is also the perfect spot for anyone who simply wishes to visit a beautiful and peaceful place. The University of Minnesota, which owns the arboretum, conducts research here and offers a wide variety of educational programs. Several miles of walking paths weave through the gardens, with a lane along side for those who wish to drive.

The Arboretum is a great place to visit summer or winter. The light display and decor in the Snyder Building were an uplifting addition to the Christmas spirit. Spring through Autumn offers fantastic color, as well as birds and other wildlife to enjoy. The Arb is a welcoming spot to share lunch with a friend. It is wonderful any time of year!
A little expensive so if you live in the area get a membership
Our family enjoys our visits to the Arboretum! Our kids 10 and 12 get excited every time we plan a visit. Such a beautiful place all seasons. This was our first visit in the winter to see the holiday lights and we were not disappointed.
What wonderful experience. A beautiful fairy land and you can even have s'mores by the fire.
We enjoyed a wonderful day at the Arboretum! Such a treat to listen to the Minnesota Chorale! And the Holiday Lights were amazing!! So lucky to have this “gem” of a place in Minnesota!
