Was hoping for more – Lovely space. Friendly and attentive service. Tasty cocktails. Good wine. I didn't find the prices to be too high, but for what we paid, I was hoping to be more impressed. The food was good but not great. We had the Chianti pasta which was a bit bland and burnt tasting. Its good that I am not afraid of oil because my fish had a HEALTHY (understating) dose of it. I have heard enough good things about other dishes that I might be convinced to return, but I would have to be convinced.

Great First Experience - Thanks, Amy! – My wife and I have been to Cafe Mingo in Northwest Portland for many years, but this was our first dinner at the Beaverton location. Food was terrific, period. But what I want to stress was the great service from our server, Amy. I'm a snob when it comes to service, and Amy was as close to perfection as anyone could come. She was attentive but not hovering. Her friendliness and enthusiasm were incredible. I will always ask for her station in future visits.

Nice place - icky food – I thought this would be a fun place to eat as I had heard so many great things about Portland's "Mingo." While the restaurant is nicely decorated and has decent service, the food was awful. My husband's pasta was so-so and my osso bucco was tough and had to be sawed with my knife. I was very disapointed since I had sprung for one the higher priced entrees as a treat. I would maybe try again with a different entree, but proabbly not.

Excellent food & ambience, but service? – I ate here for the first time on 10/16/2006. I recently moved here from Chicago, and travel frequently, which I mention only because it gives me a wide frame of reference. My conclusion is that the reviews below that say prices are too high, portions too small, are off base. I think that the excellence of the food, and the atmosphere, fully justify the prices. To be clear, they are higher than average (our tab for dinner for two, incl. salads, one side, bottle of lower-priced wine, t... read more

most nights great- when not- they correct it – I usually order the rare tuna panini and when they have it the lemon tart. Both are absolutely great. I did have one instance wherethe tuna was overcooked- the wait staff were gracious and immediately brought me a rare tuna fillet. The ice tea is also excellent.

Great atmosphere, service, and food!! – My wife and I decided to get on the MAX one evening and ride until we found a new place to eat. It was a very short trip. We stopped at Beaverton Central and checked out Mingo at The Rounds. It was great! The service was outstanding, and the waitress was able to recommend the perfect wine to compliment our food. There's indoor and outdoor seating, and the decor is very attractive. We were a little disappointed when we found out they were out of ravioli, but made up our minds to visit a... read more

Worth the price? Not really. – The location is nice and so is the outside dining area. However, ambience doesn't make up for the snooty service and overpriced dishes. The dinner ravioli plate was more like a lunch sized portion and cost $18. If you still want to give Mingo a try, stop by for lunch instead of dinner and save some money.

Fabulous everything!!! – This is truly one of the best Italian restaurants in the Portland metro area. The specials are always creative and tasty, and the service is awesome. Make sure to try the goat cheese and carmalized onion pizza, and the special raviolis and rissoto dishes are always a treat. Save room for dessert. The people who say that you don't get enough for the money have obviously never dined downtown. Mingo is a truly first rate establishment. Make sure to visit Monica in the bar for a cocktail She will start y... read more

A casual Italian trattoria gives Beaverton a taste of the dolce vita. – In Short This second incarnation of the Portland favorite is now in the Beaverton Round development and has fittingly modern decor. Retractable garage-door walls, mod paper lanterns and innovative glass partitions add downtown style. Italian cuisine is meshed with market-driven ingredients for satisfying food. Pasta dishes anchor the menu, including the Chianti-and espresso-braised beef sauce over penne or daily specials like the delicate butternut squas... read more
