Awesome food! Best place in Beaverton – Mingos has great italian cuisine. The happy hour is very nice and gives you the opportunity to taste some of the signature dishes in a smaller portion. The food is wonderful. The suga pasta chinati beef pasta dish is the best. I have made this at home and my guests love it. The salads are very refreshing. The patio in summer is very welcoming and relaxing. The staff is very attentive. The service is great. The bartenders are very helpful with ordering just teh perfect drink. Mingos has... read more
The best Ravioii in Beaverton – When we want a great meal, or are celebrating someone's birthday, we go to Mingo in Beaverton. I love the Ravioli. The Ravioli changes nightly. My favorite is carmelized onion ravioli with a light cream sauce. The service is great and there is a good wine list. We like the atmosphere, the service and the food. We live in Beaverton and it is nice that we do not have to go to Portland anymore to get good Italian.
Outstanding – I had been to th original Cafe Mingo a few times, and although I liked it, it's small size kept me from being a regular. Mingo is the answer! I completely forgot it even existed until an out of town friend asked for a recommendation for Italian in Beaverton. I went to Mingo with him, and now I feel stupid for waiting so long to go! Absolutely great food and very friendly service. I will be back again and again.
Too salty! – After reading other reviews, I see I am not the only one with this complaint. I spent an enjoyable evening here with friends. The service and atmosphere were fine, nothing special. I ordered risotto with beet greens and flank steak. The steak was great, but the risotto was ruined with too much salt, and pepper also. The seven-layer cake was a good choice for dessert. While waiting to be seated, we noticed the strong odor of industrial kitchen cleansers being circulated into the bar area by the ventilation system... read more
real Italian food – I recently discovered Mingo while I was visiting from NYC where I write a food blog! I have to say when my friends said we were going to the burbs for high-end italian I was doubtful! Much to my joy it was real italian! I travel to Italy alot! This is it! Matt choose the perfect wine to compliment our meal. The food was outstanding. The fish, the flavors, the seasonal menu, the attention, I couldnt get enough. In the land of chain restaurants and strip malls this is unheard of. I didnt understand why they... read more
Great folks - Fantastic food – My wife and I are regulars here. We sort of stumbled upon it when taking the MAX back home one evening when we first moved here from Ohio. We have yet to be disappointed by any of the dinner choices we/ve had in the last year and a half. There's always something vegetarian on the menu, and often one of the daily specials, for those who want that choice. The menu changes with the seasons and is always a fun place to go. The staff is always glad to see you, whether it's your first or 100th time. ... read more
great ambiance, disappointing food – this restaurant looks like a way-cool trendy place to dine in up and coming beaverton. and, while the environment is super hot, the food is not. it took us a while to get seated because we made the mistake of not having a reservation. wine selection was good and our bartender was knowledgeable and effective. i had the mingo salad to start, which i felt had too much dressing. i tried the pizza with prosciutto and arugula and it was like eating a salt-lick. i had the gnocchi with gorgonzola... read more
Good food in the 'burbs – I adore having Mingo in our neighborhood. Beaverton is growing up and getting so many wondeful new restaurants and Mingo is at the top of the list. We often go there just for a glass of wine and appetizers and it is a perfect meal. I would recommend going for dinner over lunch as the menu is much larger.
Best place to be disappointed – I only end up at Mingo, because my friends love it and I just go with the flow. Last night was my fifth try and I have to say if I'm invited again I will have to pass. The food is terrible, especially the pasta. My fourth time was a disaster, al dente to Mingo means to pass the pasta over the boiling water. You need a toothpick to get it out of your teeth. After sending my linguini back twice,I switched to gnocchi which was mush except for the frozen part in the middle. By the way their gnocch... read more
