I tried wean off of multiple maintenance medications for asthma including inhaled steroids but couldn't. I was referred to Dr. Vassallo and after testing, he recommended allergy shots. After months of shots, I was able to stop all controller medications and currently have lower levels of inflammation than when on all controllers. I have noticed a significant decrease in rescue inhaler use as well.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! You have to wait for like 30 min to get someone on the phone when you make an appointment. But it's not the worst part. We came their with my 21-month-old daughter for the first time to his Brooklyn heights location all the way from Staten Island and were late for 15 min (2 Ts: toddler and traffic). THEY WOULDN'T LET US IN!!! WITH THE KID! By the way, I was trying to call them on our way there to ask them if that's ok that we're running late and maybe we should come

Very thorough and careful. Was able to figure out what was wrong with me after months of seeing other specialists. Excellent doctor!

I found his staff to be very cold and unfriendly. They were not rude however they barely had any eye contact with me even when speaking to me or handing me the patient clipboard! The woman I spoke with actually glared at me though which was a bit awkward. The Dr. was patronizing and VERY condescending with his demeanor and when I attempted to ask him valid questions. He refused to give a straight answer and would only answer me in short, monotone responses without much explanation/clarity.

My 16 year old son began receiving allergy shots 2.5 years ago. He has had wonderful results with about 90% improvement in allergy symptoms--even during peak pollen season. Before shots he would require daily antihistamines, nasal sprays, frequently needed his inhaler and in the spring needed inhaled corticosteroids. He now will occasionally need oral antihistamines and that is it! He can actually breath through his nose after about 10 years of constant stuffiness. Dr. Vassallo is terrific!
