Since 1926 Millie’s remains committed to offering the best ingredients prepared by people who actually care. We use real butter to cook our fresh eggs in. We use Altadena dairy products because they don’t give their cows that hormone crap. We don’t even like yellow dye in our cheese, so we get white cheddar. We fresh grind each pot of French roast coffee. Our bread is baked fresh daily. Our juices are fresh from Odwalla. We do everything the pain in the ass, Old-fashioned way, by hand, from scratch, because... read more

Best Breakfast in LA! – My boyfriend just brought me there a few weeks back and I have to say Millie's is one of the best breakfast spots I've tried in all of LA. It's inexpensive and everything seems homemade. I love it.
Artsy, run-down diner slings anti-"Ozzie and Harriet" attitude and an inspired breakfast- and lunch-only menu for hangover crowds. – The Scene Millie's is like a 1950s housewife who deserted her family, started chain-smoking and joined a hard-core band. Yet to her kids, she's still a sweetie. Belly up to the counter to watch cooks at the old stove or sit in the side room hung with aprons embroidered with nasty slogans. The Food The menu features eggs and pancakes with personality. The Devil's Mess scramble is loaded with Caj... read more
Millie's is amazing. – This is seriously the best breakfast in LA. It's a little pricey, but it's worth it. I highly suggest the veggie mess (i think that's what it is called). If you're looking for ambiance, go somewhere else. Lots of hipsters. Definately a hangover crowd... (My whole group was hungover). very punk rock breakfast.
A neighborhood institution – I don't care if it's a greasy spoon, the food is a cut above what you expect to find (I promise, I'm a food snob) and the service is curt/efficient but friendly. I love the Jackie G. The neptune's mess ain't bad either. But really, the reason I love this place is because the first weekend I was in LA I ran into two old friends there, and knew that Silverlake was going to be my home - I haven't lived farther than 5 blocks from the place since.
Good food – It can get really crowded on the weekends. I'd recommend getting there early or going on a week day. I also like the pancakes and unless something has changed they only serve pancakes weekdays (weird, I know).
Don't eat here! – This place is so bad it makes Denny's seem like gourmet fare. They use freeze-dried onions in their omlettes. The food was so bad I had to write a letter to management reminding them they were in the taste business.
Obnoxious regulars – A tiny but LOUD place with little to no elbow room and everyone there is a rock star or screenwriter with a hangover stuttering about the party they just left earlier that morning. But perfect breakfast/brunch food when you've got the craving...it can be worth it if you can get past the Grudge-Glam thing the regulars' got going on.
I Love Millie's!! – Hands down the best place for brunch on the Eastside. Great food really cheap, great location, and a huge pile of magazines to peruse. I think they've done away with their "no phones" policy, which is a shame (I'd seen waiters refuse to take orders or deliver food to patrons on cellphones). Friendly waitstaff, fun, lowkey patrons. They even turned off the awful free jazz noise squawk they were playing one morning at my hungover request! Stay away if you're scared of hipsters or bar art, however.
Saliva spoon. – Cool hangout but the cleanliness. Watched a waitress stick her thumb in her mouth to lick off sour cream then used the same thumb to swipe sour cream off the serving spoon back into the tub. Dirty utensils and dishes. Just another "FAD" "IN" place to eat.
