The Doctor is friendly and knowledgable. She does not help you prioritize treatment. According to her you should get everything done as soon as possible. There seems to be a pressure to buy services. The hygiene staff has been good, but it's never the same person twice. I don't know if they are quitting or getting fired. Fancy office aside, Dr. Miyamoto-Shemali is thorough, professional and her staff is incredibly knowledgable. It might be worth the price!
Dr. Mika was professional. I wish her staff was equally as professional. First rate dentistry and cleaning. I had four crowns, bleaching, and deep cleaning done. I am very happy with her work. However, the administrative staff can't seem to manage a simple request such as my request to call only once for confirmation. Two or three calls are too many and it gets annoying over time. The clinic is like an art gallery since it is in the Pearl district. The staff are nice, but very pushing to sell you more stuff. Dr. Mika Miyamoto-Shemali is very knowledgable, but I think they should take it easy with their new business. They also should explain to the patient about the insurance coverage when they propose a dental plan for you.
I was one of their first patients. They have a great office, great technology. I feel that Mika is very knowledgeable and customer oriented. On the downside, I would say they are very high-pressure to sell add-ons like SonicCare or orthodontics (Visalign?). The pressure is quite bad compared to my other dental experiences. I would hesitate to recommend them due to the pressure.
