RecommendedI think the mask critical comments/reviews are relevant, but really shouldn’t this be state policy as opposed to an individual business decision. Yes, it should. Look at how terrible Covid is in Wisconsin Rn vs states like Vermont, New York. You think NY cafes would enforce masks if it wasn’t law? I haven’t lived in Madison for 17 years, but have good memories of working at Michelangelo’s. Great atmosphere, coffee drinks, location, and baristas.
The coffee was tasty and this was my preferred coffee venue when in Madison. But in light of their recent actions during the pandemic (not requiring even basic health protections from and for their customers), I can't help wonder what other compromises they may be taking with their customers' health. So regretfully, I will never return...
Just got Iced Mocha and it tastes really good! Employees were so professional and reallly caring. They are all wearing masks and care about their customers and loved ones and I thank them so very much for doing so. Overall, I recommend this place and will definitely come back again!
I used to work here, and it was one of the best atmospheres to work in. Great bosses, they care, and understand the importance of family and work/life balance. Owners are one of the nicest selfless people I have met. Since then, been addicted to their coffee and pastries.
Unlike The Great Dane and other local compassionate business, Michaelangelos does not require customers to wear masks. This is enabling people to put their employees and other customers' health at risk. I hesitated in passing too much judgement, but when they deleted rightfully critical comments to their mask policy, it was a sign that they were not willing to accept responsibility for their actions and that puts them in league with the most irresponsible of business. they are not protecting their employees. i was shocked to walk in one day when i realized i was the only one wearing a mask.
Michelangelo's could improve by requiring their employees to wear masks, thereby keeping their employees and customers safe. They could reinstate the workers they fired for asking for the right to a safe workplace.
I just wanted a small coffee with room for employee safety
