As a gastroenterologist, I believe it is important to understand what my patient is going through. To that extent, I have been in their position as the patient, as I have been diagnosed with both Crohn's disease and peptic ulcer disease. I have been through the procedures I perform. This gives me the unique perspective of understanding exactly how it feels to be in the position as a patient. It is important to listen and to have empathy for the feelings and fears that my patients have.

I’ve seen Dr Zelig a few times for gi issues including a colonoscopy and a few inspections. Not only is he very gentle but he makes you not feel nervous. Also very informative and an overall great guy!
Office canceled colonoscopy procedure and did not bother to call and tell my mother. Of course she went through the prep for the procedure and was told when we checked in that her appointment was canceled. We were also told this office has recently had repeat same issues with other patients. What kind of doctors office does this? Would NOT recommend him if my life depends on it! His office apparently has big issues.
Long wait times to be seen (over an hour), abrupt, not friendly, dismissive, acted like he didn't believe what I told him.
Dr. Zelig was an attentive listener, thorough in his exam, took time to explain what he thought the issue is and to schedule the proper diagnostic exams to rule out anything else. I am very impressed with his bedside manor. It was a great visit.
Curt, unfriendly, kind of a jerk. Wouldn't recommend.
The absolute worst physician I’ve ever seen, abrupt and rude.
Dr Zelig immediately put me at ease, let me interrupt him and throughly explained the further testing I needed. He was not only friendly but exhibited a high wealth of knowledge and experience. In addition, he has a great sense of humor which I dearly needed at this stressful time. I highly recommend.
I don't remember ever seeing a doctor that showed as little interest in my complaint as he did. I waited for more than an hour and when he came into the room he barely acknowledged me. Then ask me why I was there. He seemed distracted and referred to his cell phone for several minutes. He did examine me and said he found nothing wrong. He was very abrupt. I will not be seeing him again ever.
Dr. Zelig is incredibly sensitive with my mother, diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. He treats her with dignity and respect while providing excellent, conservative care. He did not rush her into surgery, taking a wait, test watch approach. His conservative call paid off, surgery was not necessary. I attend medical appointments with my mother from out-of-state. I appreciate that Dr. Zelig's office staff are efficient, timely, and supportive, as well.
