I suffered a horrible shoulder dislocation in 1983. Dr Kaveney was one one one of a few Doctors who performed a complete reconstruction, Bankart Surgery (1984 - I was 32 years old). My shoulder was immobilized for 6 weeks. The rehab was nothing short of brutal. The bottom line is that I have full mobility in my shoulder. I am now 68 years old. Dr Kaveney completed a bilateral hip replacement. Could not have had a better experience. Still no issues after 16 years. Of course I did my exercises and follow up visits.
This man has a terrible bedside manner! Like someone else said, rude, doesn't listen to patient. When I came to in recovery, I haden't been numbed up! The gave me 3 shots of morphine, and finally had to give demean to stop the pain. I still can't use my right arm to even throw a ball. Don't let him touch you!
Horrible, rude, didn't spend time listening to me. His nurse and office staff is great.
My issue here is with the cost of my visit. Office visit was $185, injection was $243 and the cortisone in the injection was $100! Dr. Kaveney was very nice but I was in the office five minutes and was charged $528. I will not be back.
Dr. Kaveney performed hip surgery on my Mom. She has dementia and he was incredibly kind, understanding and took plant of time talking with us and checking on us. I cannot say enough about him as a doctor and as a kind, thoughtful person. He's a five star+++ in our book.
Total knee replacement in summer of 2005. Been back for followup xrays. Not a fancy facility, but did great job on knee, which is all I care about. Manipulated other knee, which was done by another Dr. at a large fancy ortho facility. Dr. K. is the only Dr I'd let look at either knee now. No problems with knee in 7 years. Don't remember what I paid, but it was comparable to other Doctors at that time.
Dr kaveney is a really good doctor. He is conservative, which is maybe a little unexpected being a surgeon, but which I appreciate because if I would prefer to avoid surgery ( yet still get better). I am a nurse at a hospital he is affiliated with and can tell you that Dr Kaveney is very well respected there. He does not spend very much time with idle chit chat or hand holding but he will do his best to take care of your health problem.
Dr. K is the best. I have been seeing him for 10 years and never had an issue. He is a little quite but does a great job.
