Referred to Dr Shapiro by another optometrist for my premature infant’s eyes. He was efficient and respectful and even pulled up pictures of what he was looking at.
Great
My father had a 9:45am appointment. He waited so long that he didn’t get out of there until after 1pm! He’s also a diabetic. Would not recommended this doctor if you have a life.
Talented surgeon who cares deeply about his patients. Thank you for all your help with our son over the years and your dedication to preserving sight.
He is a brilliant doctor and surgeon and I would not trust my sons eyes with anyone else.
Dr. Shapiro is a Doctor's Doctor, the 'real deal'. He humbly & masterfully healed my eyes -- taking my vision from nil -legally blind- to 20/20 & 20/25. I had seven eye surgeries over 1-1/2 years. He saved my life -- my life before blindness. I traveled 1-1/2 hours each way for 20 visits, now. Dr. Shapiro explained my condition to me very well. He never promised me any degree of success but his very personal interest in me, not just my eye disease, gave me great confidence that God blessed me.
I wouldn't trust anyone else with my daughter's retinas. We travel from 2 states away to continue under his care. She's had 2 detachments and I believe she can still see because of this man. There is often a wait, but we have caused such a wait when we've been the emergency. We understand this and just bring activities and snacks. It is worth the wait and not a problem if prepared. I couldn't recommend this doctor more and have had my daughter under his care for 10 years.
Dr Shapiro's office staff is horrendous. He works poorly with infants, and his colluegs as well as him self use the same excuse for ever poor or bad behavior he has which would be "well he is the best in the state." The surgical scheduling called me recently to let me know that my insurance isn't covered at his hospital of choice but that I could just get need insurance when I refused they offered a second hospital that would work but then told me that the Dreason didn't want to there.
