Doesn't listen. Pushs more and more meds instead of listening to reasons behind symptoms and offering non-pharmacological treatments. Sometimes deep breathing and mindfulness work just as well as habit forming anti-anxieties. He misdiagnosed my condition and blamed me when the multiple medications he put me on caused life-threatening contraindications, despitebeingtaked as directed. I'm truly lucky to have survived his lack of care! The lottery has better odds of a favorable outcome than Deal!!!
he did the worst job humanly possible when i was his patient
I took my 16yo son to see Dr Deal, after having a change in insurance which led to having to find a new doctor. He told me (us) within the first few minutes of meeting that my son had been misdiagnosed and not treated w/the correct medications for the last 6 years, or so. He said there are no accurate forms of testing for psychiatric illnesses and that depression is not a diagnosis he believes in or treats. He wanted to take my son off his prescription that he has been taking for awhile now, that has been working well for hi... read more
I saw Dr Deal a few years ago. He didn't like me asking questions at all. I would ask about the medications he was prescribing me and about any possible side effects. He would get angry and even told me to "stop talking." He cut the dose of my antidepressants and turned me into a non-functional zombie. I think he liked me better that way because I wasn't asking questions anymore. I was finally able to find a new psychiatrist. She said the combination of meds Dr Deal put me on was extremely dangerous to my health. She also sa... read more
WARNING!!! STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!!! If I could give negative stars, I would. This is the WORST provider I have seen in my entire life. I literally waited TWO HOURS past my appointment time. I was there for over an hour before the doctor even walked in the office. I have been treated for depression over the last 20+ years by various psychiatrists. Dr. Deal told me that Major Depressive Disorder does not exist and that I am Bi-Polar. Based on other reviews he tells everyone this upon first meeting. He also mistakenly thought... read more
If their is a definition of quack, he would come very close, he tries to tell You what your issues are, he put me on meds that messed up my life for 6 month, tried to convince me that I was bi polar at 70 years old and when I finally work up I went to a real doctor, found just depressed, took me off all the strange drugs I was on put me on lexpro and I was back to normal in 2 weeks, use extreme caution if you go to this person, also office is very poorly run and appointments are never on time,.
Dr. Deal is amazing. He listens without judging and comes up with creative, innovative treatment plans. He is never condescending as many other health care professionals can be. He actually seems to love his job and his patients! His knowledge and expertise are far-reaching and his ideas, cutting-edge. I LOVE Dr. Deal and I am so thankful to have found him!
I saw Dr Deal for a few months and began feeling worse than I ever had. My complaints were unaddressed. I found a new Psychiatrist and starting seeing him. Felt better after 1 week.
For those of you questioning if you should seek help is the first indication that you should. I have taken pain medication for 20 plus years and got addicted to it. I lost my job my family friends everything for pills. I spent every penny I had to find opiates, I found Dr. Deal in Dec of 2017 and have been under his care, and if I wouldn't have found him, I may not be alive today. Opiat dependency is real, please get help before your life turns into mine. Seek help for yourself and loved ones.
