Awful! I'm tired if doctors telling us how much they care, and how good they are. I went to Dr Healy with back pain. Tried therapy, and shots because I wanted to avoid surgery. He performed the surgery with no complications. I returned to work for a short time and returned to him with complaints of pain still in my back. He sent me for x-rays, looked at them and didn't see anything. If the pain persists, come back. Following week, it did, and so did I. More x- rays and same response. But this time I got to hear about how he ... read more
Dr Healy is an awesome Doctor!! He cares so much for his patients! He sure knows what he is doing! He takes his time to explain every little detail of how the surgery will be done AND how surgery went as well. Thank you Dr Healy for accepting the challenge of dealing with the hemangioblastoma found on my daughter’s spinal cord!! May God bless you always !!!
Dr. Healy is a very talented & knowledgeable surgeon. If you are looking for a warm fuzzy doctor, he's NOT for you. He's all business, straight forward and doesn't spend much time with his patients. He will answer questions if you ask, but does so in a very concise manner.
I was referred to Dr. Healy for back and leg pain. After reviewing the MRI of my back, he wanted more thorough information before giving me a diagnosis. He ordered an MRI of my neck where he found the problem. I am scheduled for a posterior cervical laminectomy. I be honest, I couldn't have gotten through the anxious decision of surgery without the compassion and patience of Shelly and the rest of Dr. Healy's staff. Update to follow after surgery!
I had a cervical laminectomy in 2011 and was under the excellent care of Dr. Healey and his team. Through his tender care I was able to achieve a higher quality of life and return to fully participating in family time with my daughter and grandchildren, and full fill my duties as a nurse. I was fearful of this procedure, he took the time to talk to me and guide me through each step. An excellent surgeon with awesome bedside manner!
Dr Healy is the greatest. I was his patient in 2002. He did a Lumbar Micro Laminectomy on L4-L5. I never had a problem or pain after my 6 week recovery. I'm having other issues and I hope to see him soon for his expertise of how is can help me now. If you need help, he is the person to call for spinal problems.
I have had to have multiple cervical and lumbar surgeries. I made the mistake of seeing an inferior neurosurgeon; who performed 5 of them. After being told by him that "I'd never be any better than I was then," I sought a second opinion by Dr. Healy. After reviewing my MRI, he said that he could "fix me." And that he did! His staff was most helpful, and his surgery scheduler, Shelly B. has always gone above and beyond when it came to my surgeries. I would recommend Dr. Healy and his group.
He performed an L5 over S1 back fusion on my 20 year old daughter. He nicked her spinal cord and sent her home from hospital with a CSF leak. Called him the following day and he told me to have her lay flat all weekend and come in the office on Monday. Took her on Monday (over an hour) and he wasn't in. His PA saw her and verified the leak - told her come back next day. He saw her next day and set her up for surgery the following day. A week with a CSF leak. Scheduler is also not nice.
Dr. Healy was my surgeon quite some time ago for a C5-6 discectomy with bone graft. The surgery was successful however, it resulted in complications. Dr. Healy treated me horribly accusing me of dislodging the graft. My family MD sent me for numerous tests that found vocal cord paralysis, pupil paralysis diagnosed as Horner Syndrome from over retracting during surgery. Traumatic experience with Dr. Would Not recommend.
