I changed doctors after having A-Fib. Had an ablation done at Bethesda. Asked the head nurse on the cardiac floor who he would recommend for a cardiologist. He said the best, Michael Metzger. That was about 5 years ago. Have been seeing Dr. Metzger every since. Fantastic doctor. Takes time to explain everything. Tells it like it is......Saved my life.
I saw this doc one time and had several tests performed following an MI. He gave me an appointment to have the results explained. My appointment was at 4:15 on a Friday. I pulled into a parking space at the office and received a call on my cell from his medical assistant, Victoria, who informed me the doc had an emergency and just left the office. he saved MY LIFE by finding AND FIXING the problem of two 90% blocked arteries , i literally should be DEAD ! i had this condition for 2 months until HE saw me and in 4 days i was healed of 2 months of severe heart pain. i thank GOD every day for this man and his passion and devotion for his profession. Printed out the pre-appointment paperwork at home, filled it out & brought it to the office to get my prior doctor's records sent. Two weeks later,I arrived for my appointment. They had no record of me, denied that I had brought anything in, & never contacted my previous doctor to obtain my records.The front office worker looked dazed & confused.They rummaged around & FOUND my paperwork sitting where it was thrown 2 weeks ago.The front office is slovenly run,office is ugly. Manager ignored me.
Dr. Metzger is extremely professional and meticulous with his patients. He is friendly and easy to talk to. I love his office and the team members that I have the opportunity to meet.

Dr Metzger you're a great doctor. Your new group is horrible & will do more damage to your reputation then you can imagine. A month ago after having intermittent chest pains I called for an appointment, I was told the earliest was 4 weeks away. Now I'm having a reaction to new meds my MS doctor told me to see my cardiologist to rule out any heart issues. I explained this to the women who schedules appointments. She told me someone will call you back, all I wanted was an appointment.
