Great doctor!
Dr. Metzger is the best! No nonsense, concerned and caring. He takes the time to have an actual conversation with you and really cares about your health. No question is too crazy to ask. I feel free to call anytime with questions about my health and know that I will get the attention I need. Dr. Metzger saved my life 11 years ago when I had a heart attack. I trust him with my life implicitly!!!!
I believe sincerely that Dr. Metzger saved my father's life. His wealth of knowledge coupled with his humble and caring approach make him the cream of the crop in his field. He is highly skilled and respected, and his office staff is wonderful as well. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Excellent first visit
I am a retired physician. Having practiced Neurology for many years up North, I through my observation , training and personal experience can intuitively learn and know a lot about another human being. If I could give Dr Metzger 10 stars, I would. I was rushed into Bethesda East & had the good fortune of Dr Metzger and his team. He literally saved my life by removing multiple clots in my lungs, DVT and iliac vein. Had I been taken elsewhere, traditional therapies would not have saved me - confirmed by many doctors. Dr. Metzger is a no-nonsense practitioner who cuts right to the chase. My previous cartiologist wanted to do a procedure that I felt wasn't called for, so I went saw Dr. Metzger for a second opinion that confirmed my initial concerns about the advice I was being given. I want doctors who are pro-active when it comes to managing patients, and I wanted a practice that made better use of current communications tools. Both of those goals were met in the first visit.
