I had to call the billing department today because I received 2 final notices on bills I hadn’t received first notices on! Ophelia answered the phone and was extremely pleasant and helpful. She is sending me full copies of the bills so I can contact the doctors and get the insurance to pay them, and she backed up my due dates so they won’t go to collection! Thank you so much, Ophelia!
I have had my blood work done at Metro Lab in Davenport for years. In the past year the billing has been the worst I've experienced. They either bill Illinois Blue Cross, not Iowa or not at all and send me bills for hundreds of dollars!!!
I have been getting my blood draws done there for a few years now. I was diagnosed with Cirrhosis of the liver in 2007 and finally received my liver transplant in 2010. I started getting my blood tested every 2-4 weeks at the beginning and now I have it done every 3 months. Metropolitan Lab is the best around in my opinion!!!�

The lab part is wonderful but the billing is horrible. I paid online the remaining balance left over and they applied it to another person account. Then I have to mail or fax a copy of my statement showing I paid so they won't send off the bill to collections. The part of the company that deals with billing needs to be reviewed and changes made.
The 7th st location in Moline was pretty busy when I got there. I was nervous for my blood work. Not the taking blood part, but the results. When I got called back, the woman that took my blood was so kind. Took her time getting to know my situation while taking the test. I was almost in tears. She definitely made a scary moment pleasant. The interaction was maybe only 5 minutes, but it was a great 5 minutes of my day. She even gave me a hug before I left. The world needs more people like this woman.
